I love that I can skip the ironing board and simply use this mat for most of my ironing needs. After reading some reviews about the wool sticking to irons, I took precautions by sewing a sleeve for it and securing the last edge with hot glue for a snug fit. I also made a canvas tote for it (there are tons of tutorials on YouTube) and added a zipper on top to keep it protected from wool bugs.
I’ve used it for numerous fat quarters, smaller sewing projects, and even over 10 iron-on T-shirt decals I bought from Amazon. The size is just right, and everything turned out perfectly. I would definitely buy this again, but I expect it to last me a lifetime!

I’ve been using the pressing pad for my quilt blocks, keeping it right next to my sewing machine for easy seam pressing as I add pieces. The 14”x14” size is just right for this purpose. To prevent any moisture from affecting the pad, I place a piece of cardboard underneath when using steam, but I’ve noticed no signs of moisture penetration in the week I’ve had it. The steam really helps achieve crisp definitions for each seam, and using the wool setting has yielded great results.
The pad provides ample space for pressing a quilt block while also allowing me to rest my iron between adding pieces. It’s compact enough to bring along to quilt classes or to a friend’s house for a fun sewing session.
I’m pleased to report that my pad has no woolly odor, and both sides are smooth with no lumps. My order arrived just two days after I placed it on Amazon, and the price was over half of what I found at my local quilt store for a similar product. While I typically prefer to support my local store, I couldn’t justify their prices this time. I frequently shop there, so it eases my conscience!
In the attached photo, you can see the difference: the block on the left was pressed at my ironing board, while the block on the right was pressed with my Ecoigy wool pressing pad. The crispness of the block pieces is remarkably noticeable in person. This pad has significantly enhanced the quality of my piecing!

It’s hard to find typewriter mats on Amazon for under $40, yet this one is comparable in quality and thickness, plus it’s the ideal size for most typewriters, especially those from the 50s onward. I appreciate the brand’s eco-friendly approach and have more confidence in it than in many others available. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

I was concerned that the product might not be genuine wool, but it turned out to be exactly as described. Plus, it’s priced much better than what I found at local craft stores. However, I wouldn’t advise using steam, as it can create a hot, damp spot underneath the mat. It’s excellent for ironing small fabric pieces and creating registration marks by pressing folded fabric.

The wool ironing mat is fantastic! It presses seams beautifully and is so convenient to set up on the counter. The price is outstanding compared to wool mats from local fabric stores. There are a couple of drawbacks: the heat and steam can make it smell a bit like my husband’s family sheep ranch in Idaho, which is quite strong! Additionally, I’ve noticed that the steam and heat can damage my wooden counter, so I’ve had to add some extra protection underneath. Overall, though, I absolutely love it!
